NORTH YORK MOORS RAILWAY

With our magnificent steam engines, beautiful rural stations and smartly uniformed staff, a visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is like taking a step back in time.From the smoke and steam pouring from the engines to the cozy wood-paneled carriages.

SUTTON BANK

Sutton Bank, also known as Roulston Scar, is a hill in the Hambleton District of the North York Moors National Park, It is a high point on the Hambleton Hills with extensive views over the Vale of York At the foot of Sutton Bank lies the village of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe.

HELMSLEY MARKET TOWN

Helmsley is a market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, the town is located at the point where Rye Dale leaves the moorland and joins the flat Vale of Pickering.

AMPLEFORTH ABBEY

Ampleforth Abbey is a monastery of Benedictine Monks a mile to the east of Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, England, part of the English Benedictine Congregation. It claims descent from the pre-Reformation community at Westminster Abbey.

EDEN CAMP

Today, Eden Camp has people of all ages visiting from around the world to see the story of World War Two. Re-created using sights, sounds, smells and moving figures to create a unique atmosphere that makes it feel like you traveled back in time to wartime Britain.

FLAMINGO LAND THEME PARK

Flamingo Land is a theme park, zoo, and resort, based near Pickering, North Yorkshire, England. It attracts about 1.8 million visitors per year. Flamingo Land is also the 12th most visited theme park in Europe. It is roughly 30 minutes drive from the cottages.

CASTLE HOWARD

So much more than a visitor attraction, Castle Howard is also a thriving rural estate with many traditional enterprises such as farming and forestry.

WHITBY FISH & CHIPS

Whitby Fish & Chips are probably the best in the whole of the UK. Along with its castle and spooky grounds, whitby town is also a nice place to visit.

SCARBOROUGH

Have a day out on Scarborough Beach, play in the amusements, visit the theatre or just have fish and chips, with an ice cream to finish off your day.

5. Wainstones Walk

8 miles, 5 Hours 30 Minutes. Starts Chop Gate – 18.5miles from Wass.

6.White Horse Walk
